Comment Corner (at the end of each post) is where all comments recevied, regardless of date or which post they are associated with, are acknowledged and/or replied to. If you comment on a post that is 3 weeks old, no matter, I am notified of the comment and will address it at 'Comment Corner' in the newest post. This came about after commenting at blogs on which posts seem to be 'abandoned' with comments or questions never being answered. I want you to know I read the comments and appreciate each and every one!

Of Meals And Deals

Did well with this past weeks plan, again menu's stayed the same but had a bit of a switch around on days as BH's day off changed during the week.  No baking other than a loaf, bought a couple of packs of biscuits from the shop.  Please don't hate me.  LOL

The menu plan for this coming week is:

SUN-  Roast Pork  /  Roast Potatoes  /  Peas  /  Corn  /  Gravy

MON-  Prawn Pilaf w/Yogurt  /  Broccoli  /  Carrots

TUE-  Cold Pork  /  Coleslaw  /  Chips  /  Cheese /  Roll

WED-  BH Day Off - Out/BH cooking/Takeaway

THU-  Pastitsio (with a few adjustments to normal recipe)  /  Peas  /  Carrots

FRI-  Pastitsio Part 2  /  Green Beans  /  Roll

SAT-  Fish~n~Chips

Thinking that next week I may include the rest of the day's "meals", although the selections seldom vary from week to week except for the odd occasion.  They're just eaten on different days.

Now, while we're all trying to save ££'s and being more careful about what comes out of our purses there are times when, sadly, the majority of us have to shop for one thing or another.  More people are turning to the discount shops - food and otherwise- to help ease the pinch.  It's even become quite a "badge of honour" to say that you shop in one of these, which wasn't always the case, but never mind.

I know from personal experience that at least two of these shops, Lidl and Aldi, run specials that start on a certain day of the week.  Many times the "deal" has come and gone before you find out about it, especially if you don't pick up one of their in-store flyers or get one in your local 'free' paper.  For about 6 months or so now I have been receiving email newsletters from both of these stores (and a couple more) which tell you what the special offers will be for the following week.  Very handy if you do find something in them you want/need to purchase!

With this advance notice of 'specials', you can get to the shop on the day the sale starts and hopefully come away with what you were looking for at a very good price.  And, hopefully, not too much more.  :-)   Below are links to the shops that offer email newsletters, and these usually get to your inbox well ahead of the sale time.

ALDI Email Newsletter

LIDL Email Newsletter

NETTO Email Newsletter

WILKINSON Email Newsletter

The following do not offer email newsletters that I could find, but do feature what is available and on sale at their stores during a given time frame.

If you know of others that have specific information as to current product ranges or pricing and have a link for the page, please leave a comment with the information and I will update this list with credit to you, thanks!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy weekend!
